Matt Authier

Matt Authier is a lifelong Texan, Certified Public Accountant, and active member of the Ellis County community running to represent Texas House District 10. With a background in finance, real estate, and public service, Matt is focused on practical solutions, responsible budgeting, and representing the interests of local families in Austin.
Matt began his career at Deloitte as a senior auditor in the investment management industry and later managed private equity funds at RR Advisors. Since 2016, he has worked as a Mortgage Loan Originator with Gateway Mortgage Group, helping families across Ellis County achieve homeownership.
In addition to his professional experience, Matt has spent over a decade serving in various local organizations. He has held treasurer roles with the Waxahachie Lions Club, the Ellis County Museum, and the Nicholas P. Sims Library. His involvement in education and healthcare includes serving on the Waxahachie ISD School Board, leading the Wilemon STEAM Academy PTO, and supporting fundraising efforts for Baylor Scott & White and the Waxahachie Family YMCA. He is also a church elder and longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Waxahachie.
Matt holds both a BBA in Accounting and a Master’s in Finance from Texas A&M University. He and his wife live in Waxahachie, where they are raising their three sons with a shared commitment to family, community, and conservative values.
Matt is running for the Texas House to represent District 10 with a focus on accountability, local priorities, and practical leadership.
